My hope is that by signing this petition that government and current law officials will re open this case. With today's technology I am sure a different outcome would occur. My gut feeling to this day is that Conley asked Ollie to stop so he could get out of the Bronco and move a dead deer from the road preventing another car from having an accident. Conley wore seat belts and had he been in the car would of not been thrown. When the other car came around the curb they in turn due to their Holiday celebration at the party misjudged and over corrected striking Conley and throwing him in a direction far from the scene and position of the Bronco, then slamming into the Bronco killing Ollie instantly on impact. Conley was a nature lover and a good boy that would of been looking out for the other guy, in this case it cost him his life. I think this case could and should be a feature of a broadcast like unsolved mysteries or NBC nightline. If the government and law enforcement don't get involved soon. It's time to take another look.

I lost my daughter recently at 23 years of age. Supposedly there is an ongoing investigation. A lot of things seem out of place to me also, but who knows what has been covered up? I truly feel for you in the loss of your child. No one knows what pain you go through unless they have gone through it themselves. I would not wish this kind of pain on anyone. Good luck to you!

First let me comment on the lack of courage displayed by the Office of the Attorney General representing the State of Wyoming.The neglegence and lack of concern for the truth in this case shows a complete lack of concern for the truth and a total disregard for human life along with absolutely and totatly any concept of compassion regarding the suffering of the parents of these boys.
I find in reading the contents of this web-site, Collusion, Perjury,Conflict of interest between Investigative AGencies, Destruction of Vital Evidence, Improper disposal of Personal Property of Victims of a Crime along with a blatant disregard for a fair and unbiased investigation.A complete display of favortisim regarding the local parties involved in this crime.
I feel in the interest of Justice and to preserve the integrety of the Judicial System of the State of Wyoming
this case should be challenged in Criminal Court under Federal Jurisdiction by a Federal Competent Attorney.
I read the Statutes of limitations, there are none in the State of Wyoming on any crime
I love the State of Wyoming and now will forever be ASHAMED.

I was informrd by a individual I trust or I would not respond to the information. I was told when this tragedy occured the lanes were advised by Lani Baker Matthews that her boss Brad Mead a respected Attorney in Jackson urged her to convince the lanes to not hire an Attorney in Virginia ,but to hire one from their area,Brad told her (Lani Baker Matthews) there were at least ten lawyers there waiting to take this case. I am sure the reason being it could be controlled by the local legal dept,I did not believe Brad would do such a thing until I read a copy of the letter sent to the Lanes by Lani Baker Matthews. for a individual such as Brad Mead to do such a thing is unforgivable and bordering on a severe repremand. This family was grief stricken and needed to trust some one.Believe me I did read the letter. Brad also said he could not take the case because he was giving Yearsley flying lessons.
Its obvious what the out come was.The lanes web-site pretty much clears it all up.

I have been aware of this tragedy for quite sometime and have come to the conclusion,It appears to me and many others that Wyoming is by all logical and normal percepions and definitions falls under the heading of communist rule,The Constitution and Bill of Rights have been discarded and replaced by dictator ship.why were Ollie Sutherland and Conley Lane's rights not protected from biased and unfair incrimanation with out due process.I dont think a persons rights are automaticly expeled because they have expired.When an individual can no longer speak for him self on his own behalf he should still be protected by the same laws we all live and die under.Maybe Jackson chooses who should be represented under the communist rule that has replaced the Democracy we have fought and died for ,for at least 250 years.
There should be no charges brought against any person with out due process in a court of law.
With all the information I have read ,there has been a great miscaridge of justice displayed in the State of Wyoming and in The Town of Jackson Wyoming

I was appalled (for the 2nd time this year I might add) to see how a case in Teton Co. was handled. I can kind of understand the explanation given by Steve in his response back to the governor (due to how the events unfolded),but if the accident involved just the Yearsly car---rest assured the officer when smelling alcohol would have followed protocol and had him wisked to the hospital to be tested....not long ago I was chosen for jury duty on an attempted murder trial and was really appalled at (in my opinion)the ability of our police and/or sheriff's department to investigate a crime scene! WAIT, I should say (in my opinion) their lack of. "Too many chiefs and not enough Indians" would be one way to describe it. (In my opinion)they acted like a bunch of Barney Fife officers and I sincerely hope I never have any reason to call them.(in my opinion) There wouldn't have been a so called attempted murder if the officer's would have followed the law and arrested the drunk son lying in the barrowpit when called to the disturbance for the 2nd time of 3.It was embarrassing to hear the defense unravel their whole story and it was REALLY disappointing to watch nearly 3 or 4 hours of their so-called "interrigation" techniques driving the accused to near tears and getting him to admitt an untruth that would make their "theory" work.Only to have the "theory" blown out of the water when the lab results returned.I saw first hand their cockiness and how even though the only "fact" they thought they had to convict fell thru---they still tried the case, wasting tax payor money on the (in my opinion) hope they could paint a bad enough picture of the character of the accused to convince the jury! When the officer in charge was asked by defense, "don't you feel you owe the defendant an apology"? He said, "No , I was doing my job"! It was unreal to me that they didn't drop the case when the lab results came in!I have heard---and yes "heard" not witnessed many storie...

How can people view this website and not sign this petition? This site has been up for a long long time but people just don't take the time to get involved. Our country is a lot like this. Everyone "feels" for Jim and Jeri but very few want any involvement. What are you afraid of? Why won't you involve yourself in this? Do you just feel sorry for the Lanes? They don't need your sympathy they need your support. They need your involvement. They need you telling your friends about this site. They need you writing your politicians and asking why? Don't just read this site and feel sorry for them -- read it and do something about it! Get involved.

This is American justice at its worst! As a mothrer, my heart aches for Jim and Jeri. As a citizen I retch at the injustice of this case. The whole state of Wyoming should be ashamed. Sadly, I imagine nothing can be done since primary evidence has been lost or destroyed. What a travesty.

THIS IS A GRAVE INJUSTICE THAT IS LONG OVER DUE.THESE PARTIES NEED 2 B HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS.YOU SHOULD HAVE ENOUGH COMPASSION TO COME FORWARD AND TAKE YOUR PUNISH LIKE GROW UPS AND NOT HIGH SCHOOL KIDS.U NEED 2 GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
