| Petition View the 80 page signed hardcopy petition (13MB, high speed internet recommended) Please sign our electronic petition after reviewing our goals: Conley Lane was the only son of James Conley and Jeri E. Lane. He grew up in Roanoke, Virginia and attended Cave Spring High School. Conley and his friend Ollie Sutherland were killed on an ice and snow covered highway, with no markings, in Teton County, Wyoming. At least two or three vehicles were known to be involved in the wreck. The "official" report found Ollie Sutherland at fault. Information disclosed by private investigators revealed that individuals who were in the second vehicle received special treatment from law enforcement officials. It was proven these individuals who are well known, politically connected local residents and business owners of Teton County, Wyoming, were legally drunk. Our efforts to have local officials interview all witnesses and fully investigate this wreck were met with much resistance, and they have basically closed their files bringing no charges against these individuals. Evidence from these local individuals (blood samples) has now mysteriously disappeared or been destroyed. We the undersigned believe it is time that these local law enforcement officials be held accountable for their failure to fully investigate and publicly account for the discrepancies in the "official" and private investigations. We believe it is time for all of those involved to be held accountable for the consequences of their actions. We understand this petition and copies thereof will be presented to the office of Congressman Bob Goodlatte, Attorney General John Ashcroft, and to those elected officials in Wyoming who have the power to write this wrong.
